On December 17th, 2019, a delegation from the Institute of Chinese Modern and Contemporary Literature and Culture led by professor Chen Lijun paid a visit to Waseda University. The purpose of this visit is to expand students’ global vision, particularly those related to their majors.
The visit started with a guided tour in Waseda Campus where Central Library, the landmark of Waseda University is located. During the tour, professor Chen Lijun introduced the history, culture and discipline features of Waseda university.
The delegation then headed to the Department of Chinese Language and Literature of Waseda University to meet with Professor Sennotakumasa（千野拓政）, who briefly introduced Department of Chinese Language and Literature and extended his hearty welcome to the delegation. This is followed by an academic discussion on Chinese and Japanese literature and Youth Culture in the perspective of East Asia between the teachers and students of both sides. The topic focused on Japanese animation, digital media and other current academic hot spot, leading to an in-depth academic exchange. By exploring the second-dimension culture and the influence of the community on the culture, Professor Sennotakumasa（千野拓政）related the above issues to the modularization and data features of the new media culture. The heated academic discussion extended to the group dinner hosted by Professor Sennotakumasa in the campus, which wrapped up this meaningful visit.
